Area del Parco di Portofino

Portofino Environmental Park covering the councils of Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and, in the adjoining area, Rapallo, is the northernmost protected coastal area of the western Mediterranean and has some of the most famous landscapes and sceneries in the world.

The area’s unique geomorphological and microclimatic characteristics offer extremely varied environments in a very limited territory. In just a few steps we move from the fresh Apennine woodland of the northern slope to the sun-kissed Mediterranean world overlooking the cliffs, the tradition of the chestnut to that of the olive, from agricultural traditions to activities connected to the sea and traditional fishing. Protected since 1935, the Park hosts one of the greatest flora concentrations of the Mediterranean, a noteworthy variety of birds and invertebrates as well as important historical-architectural remains. A network of over 80km of footpaths offer walks and excursions of a wide range of duration and difficulty, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the peculiarities of the entire area.

Quality Made brand is developed by S.MAR.T.I.C. project, “Sviluppo Marchio Territoriale Identità Culturale”, co-funded by the European Fund for Regional Development through the INTERREG Maritime Italy-France Programme 2014-2020.
